Biography
I taught marketing at the Kellogg School of Management for over 50 years. Many of my Ph.D. students went on to become major shapers of the marketing discipline.
I trained as an economist and I studied under Milton Friedman for my MA (University of Chicago) and for my PhD (M.I.T.) under Paul Samuelson and Robert Solow. I did my Ph.D. dissertation in India studying how wages were set in India.
I have published 90 books, most of them on marketing and business. I have also published Confronting Capitalism (2015), Democracy in Decline (2016), and Advancing the Common Good (2019). My interests cover business, marketing and large scale social systems.
I have published two autobiographies: 1. My Adventures in Marketing (2015) and 2. My Life as a Humanist (2021). A short summary of my activities and accomplishments are available in Wikipedia under my name.
